WHO WE ARE
At Harrison Elementary, our mission is to nurture the whole child by providing a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive environment where students are empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to equipping students with the critical thinking and social skills they need to succeed as compassionate, responsible global citizens. We strive to inspire every student to reach their full potential as lifelong learners and well-rounded individuals.
We are a Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade school and serve approximately 575 students. The school was built in 2003 and offers a comprehensive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds. As a Dual Language Immersion school, Harrison promotes bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism through the Maritza Robles Dual Language Immersion Magnet. This program enables students to achieve fluency in both English and Spanish, preparing them for a globalized world.
Additionally, Harrison has a strong focus on student support through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), integrated with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The school is also a proud partner of the Indiana Department of Education's Literacy Cadre Program, ensuring literacy is at the heart of every student's education.
